I, Suyash Gautam, am sponsoring my wife, Apoorva Mishra for permanent residence of Canada. I am writing this letter to provide additional details about the Proof of Sponsor’s visits item required under section 7a of the document checklist 5533.
Apoorva and I were introduced to each other online by my sister(sister’s name here) in February 2020. At the time, I was living in the US and Apoorva was living in India. We had never met or dated before that. After talking to each other on phone and video for over 3 months, we decided to marry each other. It was a typical arranged marriage and our families had already been involved at this point. Travel restrictions imposed due to COVID-19 did not allow me to travel back to India for any formal ceremony during our courtship. So, we continued to maintain contact digitally until November 2020 and our families planned the wedding ceremonies during that time. A wedding date was agreed upon and set for December while I was still in the US.
I went to India in December 2020, about 9 months after we were introduced, to marry Apoorva, and that is when I also visited her for the first time. Once married, we stayed in India together for 7 months at my residence in India(residence address for sponsor will be printed here). Then in July, 2021, in order to continue my employment in Canada, I left India and moved to Toronto at the address(sponsor address in Canada). My wife continued to stay in India at that time to continue her employment.
So, between moving to Canada in July 2021 and sponsoring my wife now in October 2021, I have not visited her as it has been only a few months since I moved to Canada and, my wife and I cannot currently travel internationally to see each other due to our work related commitments.
